Sundew was relocated to Duluth, Minnesota in the Fall of 1980. This relocation was part of a homeport swap with Mesquite. The relocation took place because the the locks at the Soo were closing for the winter season, and CGD9 believed that the most powerful vessel in the class should be in Lake Superior during the winter months.
